Symptoms:

Delayed Forward

K1 Clutch burned

Cause:
Wear in C1/K1 clutch control bore allows circuit pressure loss, preventing proper hydraulic actuation of C1/K1 clutches.

Correction:
Ream the valve bore and install the Sonnax improved valve and sleeve assembly and calibrated spring.

C1/K1 clutches in listed units are applied in 1st through 4th Gears in conjunction with other clutch packs. As the C1/K1 clutch control valve oscillates and strokes over time, bore deterioration results, which prevents proper hydraulic control of the clutch pack. This can cause flares, slipping, erratic clutch apply timing, ratio codes, and burnt C1/K1 clutches. Reconditioning the bore and installing Sonnax C1/K1 clutch control valve kit restores normal shift operation by re-establishing the hydraulic integrity of the C1/K1 circuit.
